It's been slow comin'

OK, there is no way to get around this. I Failed miserably. I completely stopped working out and everything. I got wrapped up in in a couple of plays since my last post..which typically leads to bad dieting (late night eating, fast food,  and drinking etc).

Summer is over ! It flew by I didn’t even get to “enjoy” it that much.

I have the past few weeks been focusing on modifying my diet. But I have to do  more, I actually weigh more now than when I started this thing!!. In a fit of rage I worked out this morning..it was a damn good work out. An endorphin inducing workout. I’m ready for the next few months..call it pre-season.  Take Too! Redux. Replay. No Plays for the next few months till I get more disciplined! This belly HAS got to GO!
Current weight:!190!!!!

bah!

With Regard to Diet Pills like – Fastin Xr, and Hydroxycut

Soo FYI-

I was going to buy Hydroxcut a month ago to help give me a kick to get off my butt and work out…BUT after reading its main ingredients..I discovered it was nothing more than a megadose of caffeine (well to some..Im a serious coffee drinker mind you so it seemed like actually a mediocre amount.).

At one time there was a combination of ingrediants in HydroxyCut that may have worked on some people but also had very serious side effects. The product since reformualted, is arguably safe to use now…but you may as well just have two cups of coffee and a couple of b-vitamins.

Judgement: HydroxyCut=Fail

Next Up we have Fastin XR.. (xr meaning extended release..all day long)

I bought a bottle of this against my better jusdgement really. It also is mostly caffeine and like it’s peers it used to have a different formula. One that could seriously damage your kidneys! The new formula passes the FDA , in part, because they dont know everything thats in it. But mostly it’s caffeine mized in with someherbal combos. The results is somewhat of a diuretic (it will make you dehydrated quick), you may feel slight euphoric feelings for the first few days…but then you mostly just become irritable and your kidney and liver strt to let you know that they exist. I finished my bottle…decreasign the amount I took as I drew close to loss of inventory (standard step when dropping useabge of such things…a Step Down…(my cigarette smoking days got me use to this ).

I admit Fastin sometime gave me a boost for my workout…But mostly I can tell it affected my blood pressure adversaly, swelled my prostate, squeezed my kidneys like a kid grabbing candy and ultimately was the biggest waste of money I have spent in awhile.

Judgement: Fastin XR=Fail

You know and I know there is no substitute for running or working out and a proper diet…
Now if I can only get motivated again to do so!!

-* Disclaimer: All statements about these products are my own personal opinion, nothing is  factual or scientific . But they are in deed my honest impressions of yet more mediocre supplement companies targeting us desperate dieters.!!

..off track but getting back on course..

..off track but getting back on course..

get in gearWell Its been awhile… I’ve had about a 2 week lag from working out consistently. I think I got unmotivated because I hit a wall or rather, a ‘plateau’! Ive been 185 for about a month now..and 2 of those weeks I was working out..So I guess I got bored and bummed out..

But I’m fixing to start back up again and plan to actually RUN! You see the weather is finally getting nice..and before it gets too Hot…it’s time to Run. Running..as I know it..has always been and probably the best way to really lose weight..

It’s also the surest way to realize how out of shape one really is! Not looking forward to the latter..but definitely ready to kick things into gear!

It will be difficult because I never was  a ‘long distance’ runner..(yawn boring..) but I was a sprinter! But..before I can even attempt to spring..I gotta do a few weeks of …gulp..”jogging”.

😉 ~wish Me Luck!

185 Milestone! 5 pounds in one month..

185 Milestone! 5 pounds in one month..

185 pound markerFinally! I’m down to 185 pounds and the month of January is over. That means I basically lost 5 pounds this past month!

While I do wish it was more..I’m convinced that this is less “Yo, Yo” like than many others…And that this weight will be off for good.
I can even feel the difference that just 5 pounds makes. I have weighed this much for the past two days..(to be sure) and so I’m logging it!

I have mostly been doing cardio the past week or so..about every other day.. 30 minutes on the ellipitcal with varying intensity program. My heart rate has gone way more into “cardio mode”  (ie. I usually  just keep at a steady heart rate of 135-140 during the workout…but lately I have gone as high as 180bpm and then easing back down to 160bpm)..but..I always change the pace back down if I feel my heartrate is going out of control.  So ..I actually think I’ve been getting some actual decent lung and heart workouts from this!

I must admit, Im actually getting a little restless on the Elliptical..It’s not my favorite…but for me it’s far more effective than the stationary bike. I’m actually looking forward to getting on the treadmill soon…currently I don’t have the proper shoes..which is another reason Im using the elliptical ..But I DID just order some shoes (on Amazon) and am looking forward to getting and using them!

Although I never really have ran on a treadmill…(I used to run, like seriously outdoors growing up) I am looking forward to change up in the routine.

Diet wise..I am eating less..I’ll get into what supplements I think have or have not been helping me soon!

Im gonna go workout in about 30minutes..so Hopefully next time I post a journal entry Ill be down another pound! 😉

Finally some results! Albeit slowly..

Finally some results! Albeit slowly..

long road ahead

So here I am nearing the ending of my 4th week since starting on this journey (though if you collectively count the real workouts etc. It has really been more like 3 weeks..I did have a lousy week when I was sick… Never the less, I weighed myself yesterday and came in 3 pounds lighter than when I started. I double checked a few times today and still the same. So I think its level and accurate.

It is a little disheartening I must admit. I kind of hoped/expected to lose more weight by now. I can see why people get disheartened. It must be even worse when one is eve more overweight than I!! But make no mistake..for my size, age and build…I am very overweight.

My current BMI is approximately 28..that’s just a few points shy of “Obese”! But aide from the labels…I just don’t feel healthy..my stomach gets in the way..and I dont feel cofident in myself like I used too. BUT , I have lost 3 pounds. So i should look in the bright side. 3 pounds in approximately 3 weeks brings me to 187. Not too shabby and probably healthy weight loss!!

Never the less…I need to step it up! Looking forward to an intense work out tomorrow and doing some “smart shopping” for essential groceries!
Wish me luck!
